Penrose Brewery Hosts Beer Festival
The Celebration of Funk beer festival will be held on September 30 at the Geneva brewery.

From Penrose Brewery: It's time to get wild, funky and even a little sour, but in the most delicious way possible. On Saturday, Sept. 30, Penrose Brewing Company in Geneva, Ill., is bringing together friends from near and far for its inaugural Celebration of Funk beer festival at the brewery. Join Penrose and their brewer friends from around the country — and world, in the case of Oud Beersel of Belgium — who specialize in wild, sour and funky beers, and also know how to have a great time. For those looking for the ultimate festival experience, on Friday night, September 29th, Penrose will host a four-course VIP dinner in its oak-aging cellar pairing the brewery’s wild and funky beers with a specially prepared menu from Nobel House.
A limited number of seats will be available for this dinner for $145 each, with dinner tickets including VIP access to the Saturday festival, a special edition Celebration of Funk glass, along with access to wild bottles that will be available for sale. A portion of proceeds from the festival go to benefit the LiveLikeKatie (LLK) Foundation. Founded in 2012, the mission of the foundation is two-fold; a reminder of how to live, and an organization committed to raising money for cancer research.
It is the foundation’s goal and hope that in the future a doctor will be able to say, “Good news. It’s cancer, and we can cure this.” There are other ways to join the rest of the party: *VIP hour will be from 1-2pm and tickets will cost $80 each and include 20 sample pours. Additional pours will be available for purchase. *General admission tickets are $60 each and will run from 2-6pm and include 15 pours. Additional pours will be available for purchase.
