Pioneer Teachers Celebrate McTeacher's Night at McDonald's

Local teachers serve students and families at McTeacher's Night to raise money for ​Pioneer ​Elementary School!

West Chicago| Pioneer Elementary School students gave teachers an A-plus on their fundraising efforts to support local education and the school.

Teachers from Pioneer Elementary in West Chicago School District 33 volunteered behind the counter on Wednesday, April 24th, at the West Chicago McDonald’s located on North Avenue, where they served students and their families in a fundraiser for the School.

Gloria Trejo, Principal, Mary Kassir, Assistant Principal, and several teachers that volunteered during this fundraiser for the school. They all took pictures with the students and the families. Fifth grade teacher Mr. Alfaro tended the apple pie box during the night. While teachers helped to sell the pies alongside him. They all did a fabulous job raising funds for the school.

John Lardas, Owner-Operator of the West Chicago McDonald’s, and Yanni Management were delighted to participate in the worthy cause for education and the community.

“McTeacher’s Night is part of McDonald’s larger commitment to education and other important initiatives supporting families and the local community,” Lardas said.

“We are proud to serve the families of the Pioneer community and through the McTeacher’s Night event. In addition to helping provide financial support for our local schools, we help students feel connected to their school, their teachers and their sense of community.” John said

Lardas donated a case of apple pies to the school for sale at the event. Inspired by the success of McTeacher’s Night, Yanni Management has set their sights on partnering with other schools in the area.

“The Principal, Assistant Principal and everyone who rolled up their sleeves in support of this event” are the fabric that strengthens this community,” Lardas said.
