Power Outage Affects 900 in Geneva

Public crews worked to restore power Wednesday evening.

Nearly 900 Geneva residents were left without power Wednesday. Geneva Public Works Department officials said the East Side Drive Substation feeder was tripped, causing the outage, according to an alert sent by city officials at 6:14 p.m. The feeder serves all of Geneva East both north and south sides of Geneva Drive.

Just before 7 p.m., city officials reported about 80 percent of those affected had power restored.

“Chesapeake commons townhomes are next in line,” according to the alert sent at 6:58 p.m.
