Prepare For Third Street To Briefly Close For Work: Geneva Officials

A section of Third Street will close for a few hours this weekend to make room for construction crews who will replace rooftop HVAC units.

GENEVA, IL — Residents who plan to drive through or visit downtown Geneva Saturday should prepare for some extra traffic, officials said Wednesday.

A section of northbound South Third Street, north of James Street and south of State Street, will be closed from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday. Construction crews will be replacing rooftop HVAC units at 21 S. Third St., according to city officials.

Southbound access to Third Street will remain open, officials said in an updated announcement Thursday.

If drivers want to avoid the area, officials recommend they use Second and Fourth streets as alternate routes.
