River's Edge Bar & Grill Announces Opening in Batavia

New Restaurant Features American Cuisine, Outdoor Seating, Open Mic Night and Specialty Wings

River’s Edge Bar & Grill, a classic American bar and grill, announces its opening in Batavia’s historic district at 12 North River Street, Batavia, IL. With an expansive outdoor patio, live music, trivia and classic American cuisine such as their famous River Fire wings, Blue Bacon Burger and Cilantro Chicken, River’s Edge Bar & Grill is a top new dining destination.

“River’s Edge Bar & Grill is the perfect place enjoy American cuisine and watch football. For Bear’s games, we will feature chili and specialty hotdogs during halftime, says Executive Chef Rick Kaniuga. “We will also feature specials such as Open Mic Tuesdays (featuring local artists), Whiskey & Wings Wednesdays (with half off wings and specials on top shelf whiskey), Trivia Thursdays (with jam sessions in the beer garden) and more.”

Kaniuga is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu culinary school and has worked in many popular restaurants in the Chicagoland area such as Clara’s Fresh Pasta. Kaniuga brings a new menu to River’s Edge Bar & Grill. The menu includes:

Wings:
• RIVER FIRE: For spicy dare devils, these wings are made with a mix of Green Habanero and Ancho chile sauce.
• WOODFORD RESERVE DOUBLE OAKED CHIPOTLE GLAZE: This smoky, sweet and spicy sauce is made with Woodford Reserve Double Oaked Bourbon, pureed chipotle peppers, adobo sauce and honey.
• BUFFALO: Made the old fashioned way with Frank’s Red Hot sauce, these medium hot buffalo wings have the perfect kick.
• JACK DANIEL’S TENNESSEE HONEY BOURBON BARBEQUE: This mild and sweet Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey Bourbon Barbeque sauce is a tangy twist on classic BBQ sauce.

Burgers:
• BLUE BACON BURGER: Crispy bacon, crumbled gorgonzola cheese, tomato, grilled onions and mesclun mix all on a pretzel bun with garlic mayo.
• THE WESTERN: Pepperjack cheese, crispy onion strings and Honey Bourbon Barbeque sauce served on a brioche bun with chipotle mayo.
• PORTABELLA SWISS: Finely sautéed portabella mushrooms, Swiss cheese, and crispy onion strings served on a pretzel bun with garlic mayo.

Sandwiches:
• RIVER CHICKEN SANDWICH: Breaded or grilled chicken tossed in a specialty River Fire sauce with chipotle mayo and pepperjack cheese. Served on a pretzel bun with fresh mixed greens and tomato.
• GRILLED 3 CHEESE: A spin on the all-American classic: American, cheddar and pepperjack cheese on grilled sourdough bread.

Wraps:
• GRILLED CHICKEN AND BACON: Crisply grilled chicken and bacon with shredded lettuce, tomato, cheddar and pepperjack cheeses drizzled in our house vinaigrette.
• CILANTRO CHICKEN: Grilled chicken, cilantro, lettuce mixed with fresh salsa and a touch of chipotle mayo.
