Road Work To End On East State Street, Start On Third Street
A sanitary sewer repair project is set to start on Third Street, near Niche Restaurant in downtown Geneva, on June 6, officials announced.

GENEVA, IL — As road work comes to a close in some parts of Geneva, it will begin in other areas.
After two weeks of pothole patching on East State Street, the repairs are coming to a close Friday. State Street's exterior lanes — in both directions — will be closed near Crissey Avenue from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Officials said drivers should expect delays and consider using Fabyan Parkway as an alternate route during this time.
Potholes on the interior lanes will be patched likely starting this summer or fall, officials said.

Following the weekend, more work is scheduled to start. This time, it's a sanitary sewer repair project on Third Street, officials said. From 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 6, northbound Third Street, from James to State streets, will be closed. Once this repair is made, city staff said the roadway will be reopened to northbound traffic during the next phase of the project.
On June 7 and 8, the work, near Niche Restaurant in downtown Geneva, will continue as crews will prep and pour concrete into a portion of the left turn lane. The surface patch, according to a news release, needs about 24 hours to cure before road barriers are removed June 9. Northbound Third Street will remain open June 7-9, including a portion of the left turn lane, but officials are urging drivers to use caution when driving through the area.
