Safe Haven Dog Rescue is searching for a foster home for Sadie. We brought her to Illinois to treat her for Heartworm, a very preventable disease that is far too common in the southern shelters. We also just learned that Sadie is possibly pregnant......we did an ultra sound and the vet believes that that she is going to be a momma. We will do an x-ray in 12 days for a definitive answer. She cannot start HW treatment if she is expecting.
We need an EMERGENCY Foster HOME for her....she is currently at the vet office waiting for foster. She is a sweet, sweet dog that loves people. We also know that she does NOT like cats! She is reported to be good with dogs but we will not know 100% until we get her into a foster home.
She is approximately 45 pounds and 3 years old. If she remained in the shelter with Heartworm, she would have been on top of the list to make room due to the costly treatment. Now that she may be pregnant, we are asking for HELP! Will you help us give this girl the best chance for her and her puppies?
