Friendship Village of Schaumburg is hosting the Schaumburg Hoffman Estates Clergy Association’s annual Unity of Faith Gathering on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Friendship Village is located at 350 W. Schaumburg Road in Schaumburg.

The Schaumburg Hoffman Estates Clergy Association is an interfaith group which meets monthly to discuss topics including world peace, justice and more. The Association represents approximately one dozen congregations and organizations including churches, synagogues, hospitals, interfaith counseling centers and more.

Chaplain Shawn Kafader of Friendship Village is coordinating this year’s Unity of Faith Gathering, which will feature Brother Joseph Kilekevice, OP, founder and director of the Shem Center for Interfaith Spirituality in Oak Park. Brother Joseph has offered interfaith conferences and retreats throughout the United States for over 20 years. He approaches the world’s religions and spiritual paths experientially, inviting participants to experience forms of prayer, meditation and rituals of faith uncovering the wisdom of various faith traditions. Brother Joseph has developed the program, “A Dialogue of Hearts – a gathering of the Family of Abraham,” bringing together the three Abrahamic traditions of Jews, Christians and Muslims to listen to the wisdom found in each other’s sacred texts. Brother Joseph will tell of his journey into interfaith spiritual work and lead those present through an experience of listening to a sacred text from each Abrahamic faith tradition. Assistance in the program will be offered by members of Beth-Tikvah Congregation, Hoffman Estates, Masjid Al-Huda Mosque, Schaumburg, and Christ Mennonite Church, Schaumburg.
