Holiday Homecoming 2015 in St. Charles will kick off the Friday after Thanksgiving and continue through Saturday. The lighting of the lights ceremony will be held at 5 p.m. Friday on the 1st Street Plaza and the Electric Christmas Parade will step off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Light Up the Night Tree Lighting at Geneva Commons

The Fox and Turkey Races Held in Batavia

Selfie Scavenger Hunt Held on Small Business Saturday in St. Charles

The contest will be held on Nov. 28, which is Small Business Saturday -- an effort that encourages residents to shop local during the Thanksgiving weekend and holiday season. You can snap a photo of yourself in front of a downtown St. Charles independently-owned business and post it on Instagram with the hashtag #citysideSBS to participate in the contest. Sing-a-Long With Santa at the Steel Beam Theatre in St. Charles

Steel Beam Theatre, 111 West Main Street in St. Charles, is inviting children and adults to its Singalong With Santa: Santa’s Elf Academy. Interactive performances will begin on Nov. 28 and continue through Dec. 20. The event will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Nov. 28 and at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Nov. 29. The Fox Valley Nutcracker Performances Held Thanksgiving Weekend

Performances of the Fox Valley Nutcracker will be held Thanksgiving weekend at the Batavia Fine Arts Centre, 1399 W. Wilson St.. State Street Dance Studio will present The Fox Valley Nutcracker, a Fox Valley holiday tradition that showcases students and families from State Street, as well as other local dance studios and professional dancers, in the beloved holiday classic, The Nutcracker.
