Repairs Completed On South Street Water Main
City officials originally anticipated the water main to be repaired by Monday afternoon but later said additional time would be needed.
GENEVA, IL — A water main on South Street, just west of Western Avenue, broke Monday afternoon, and repairs extended into Tuesday.
Geneva Public Works crews resumed operations at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday and were finished just before 3 p.m. During construction, South Street was reduced to one lane, with flaggers directing traffic in the area.
City officials originally anticipated the water main to be repaired by Monday afternoon but later said additional time was needed. Residents were alerted about the break around 1:30 p.m. Monday.
