State Street Dance Studio Performs on ABC-Chicago

Dancers from the studio's production of the holiday classic ballet "The Nutcracker" enjoy visit to the city, time on television.

, 9 North Fourth St. in Geneva, was featured on a live broadcast on Chicago’s ABC Channel 7 news at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5.

Dancers from the studio’s production of the holiday classic ballet The Nutcracker were invited downtown to the 190 N. State St. studio to perform the opening party scene for live viewers throughout the Chicago-area.

The Nucracker's Grand Pas couple took stage for the live featured performance which included former Joffrey ballet dancer Randy Herrera and 14-year-old Samantha Mele of Carol Stream, IL as the Sugar Plum Fairy.

This marks State Street Dance Studio’s eighth annual performance of The Nutcracker, which is performed to sold-out audiences every season at the Norris Cultural Arts Center in St. Charles.

Each year, State Street Dance adds visual theater effects and new choreography to make a more splendid production. Cast members range from age 5 through 85. More than 75 students and guest artists performed in The Nutcracker, including children and adults from all around the Fox Valley area.

Auditions for State Street Dance Studio’s annual production are held every year at the end of August. Dancers and actors of all ages and levels are welcome to attend.
