Storms Possible Sunday and Monday, ‘Uncomfortable’ Heat in Forecast for Later This Week

Scattered thunderstorms and showers are in the forecast for Monday morning.

Temperatures will hover in the 80s through most of the week but a heat wave is in store for later in the week when highs could reach the low 90s on Thursday and Friday. With the humidity, the temps are going to feel like they are at 100, or higher, for some areas of the Midwest, according to an Associated Press article.

"It's going to feel the most uncomfortable it's felt all summer," Kevin Donofrio, a National Weather Service meteorologist in suburban Chicago, told the Associated Press.

• Monday: Partly sunny with a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms in the morning then mostly sunny in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 80s inland but only in the lower 80s near the lake. Northwest winds 5 to 10 mph in the morning becoming north in the afternoon.
• Monday night: Mostly clear. Lows in the upper 60s. Northeast winds around 5 mph.
• Tuesday: Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower 80s inland but only in the upper 70s near the lake. Northeast winds 5 to 10 mph.

• Wednesday: Partly cloudy. Highs in the mid 80s.
• Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy with a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Lows in the lower 70s.
• Thursday: Partly cloudy in the morning then clearing. A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs in the lower 90s.
• Thursday Night Through Friday Night: Mostly clear. Lows in the mid 70s. Highs in the lower 90s.
