Take home tips for fall prevention and sample power-packed foods

Windsor Park Retirement Community Presents "A Healthy and Balanced Life"

One is never too young, nor too old, to start living a healthy and balanced life. It starts, says Fitness Director Mary Lou Bellefleur, with an energy building diet and heart-healthy exercise. Bellefleur and Kelly Schreiman, a diet technician, will present “A Healthy and Balanced Life” on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, 1:30 p.m. at Windsor Park retirement community, located at 124 Windsor Park Drive, Carol Stream.

“From the way you move and how often, to the food you eat, it matters,” says Bellefleur, who oversees and manages fitness activities and programming at Windsor Park, a continuing care retirement community administered by Covenant Retirement Communities. “And it’s never too late to start. People at any age can create positive physical and mental changes with simple adjustments in their diet and exercise.”

Guests will take home tips for improving balance and preventing falls, plus a list of power foods that can add vitality to a well-balanced diet. Guests can sample delicious vegetable and fruit smoothies, and healthy snack samples created by Executive Chef Stuart Mitchell.
