Third Street To Close As Thousands Expected To Visit Geneva Arts Fair
A section of the busy downtown Geneva street will be shut down to traffic and parking for two days to allow for artists to set up tents.

GENEVA, IL — A portion of Third Street will close at the end of July as thousands of visitors are expected for the Geneva Arts Fair, police said.
The fair will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 29-30 in downtown Geneva. Visitors will be able to purchase original work, meet artists from across the country, and learn about their inspiration and techniques.
To accommodate the event, Third Street will be shut down from James to South streets starting at noon July 28. Parking and traffic will be prohibited on the street to make room for pedestrians and artists' tents.

"No parking" signs will be posted on the morning of July 28 to notify downtown visitors. Police said any cars remaining will be towed.
The street is expected to reopen by 8:30 p.m. July 30. In the meantime, drivers should use Second Street as a detour.
