Three Administrators Hired for Geneva Middle Schools

Submitted by Geneva Community Unit School District 304. 

The Board of Education on Monday approved the hiring of three administrators at the middle school level.

David Norman was hired as Assistant Principal at Geneva Middle School North. A former special education teacher at West Aurora High School, Mr. Norman holds a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University-Chicago and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from North Central College. He will begin his new assignment, which is a 12-month position, immediately.

Two individuals were also hired Monday to fill 10-month Dean of Students positions.

Daniel Jones, dean at Geneva Middle School South, holds a Master of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. Prior to coming to Geneva, he taught Language Arts and Social Studies at the middle school level for five years.

Ashley Weltler, dean at Geneva Middle School North, also holds two Masters of Education – one in Secondary Education from DePaul University and one in Educational Leadership from Concordia University. For the last seven years, she has taught Spanish at the high school level.

“We welcome these new employees to Geneva 304 and are eager to have them serve, particularly in the newly adopted Illinois teacher evaluation process,” said Superintendent Kent Mutchler. “All three seem very student focused.”
