Tree Trimming Planned This Spring In Geneva: See What Areas

ComEd operates the vegetation management program since tree branch contact with power lines is a leading cause of outages.

GENEVA, IL — ComEd will begin tree trimming near electric lines in late May or early June in five areas on Geneva's West Side.

Trimming operations are scheduled for the following areas:

  • Peck Road
  • Keslinger Road
  • Bluestem Drive
  • Kaneville Road
  • Fabyan Parkway

The vegetation management program aims to enhance electric reliability since tree branch contact with power lines is a leading cause of outages, officials said.

Although Geneva operates its own electric utility, ComEd power lines supply energy to city substations. Geneva interconnects with ComEd to receive energy purchased from its regional service transmission provider, PJM.

ComEd will notify affected residents of tree trimming in their neighborhoods.
