Williamsburg Elementary School Gets New Principal

The new principal succeeds Julie Dye, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

GENEVA, IL — A new principal has been hired to oversee Williamsburg Elementary School in Geneva, Geneva Community Unit School District 304 announced.

Elisabeth Stoffers will begin her new role July 1. She succeeds Principal Julie Dye, who is retiring at the end of the school year.

Stoffer joins District 304 from Oswego, where she served for six years as the principal of Hunt Club Elementary School, where she was previously assistant principal. Stoffer's earlier experience includes working as assistant principal in the Ball-Chatham School District and teaching language arts and social studies at Mahomet-Seymour Junior High School.

"As an experienced and accomplished principal, Mrs. Stoffers has a proven track record as a visible and approachable leader who builds strong relationships and fosters a positive culture in which all voices are heard and respected," Superintendent Andy Barrett said in a statement. "We are excited to have such an involved and participatory leader joining our team."

She obtained a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Illinois State University and a master's degree in educational organizational leadership from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Stoffers was also honored as a 2026 Elementary Regional Principal of the Year by the Illinois Principals Association.
