And the Winner of This Year's Geneva's Got Talent Contest Is ...

​Dance Dynamics of Geneva was named the winner of the 5th Annual Geneva's Got Talent contest.

Dance Dynamics of Geneva was named the winner of the 5th Annual Geneva’s Got Talent contest over the weekend and won the $1,000 grand prize.

The dancers -- Frankie Henson, Madelyn Wardynski, Faith Petersen, Emily Mundry, Lilly Japlon, and Maeve Krzysiak -- performed a dance called Uninvited to the song of the same name by Alanis Morisette. The dance was choreographed by the owner of Dance Dynamics, Brittnie Quinn.

“Winning Geneva's Got Talent was such a huge accomplishment for these dancers and the studio. Being able to showcase their talent and what we do at Dance Dynamics was both a great experience and a great win. We were against so many different talents, and to be able to win against it all of it was so amazing," Quinn said. "I am so proud of these dancers and of how incredibly they represented Dance Dynamics. These girls have been working hard on this dance all year and really proved to everyone what you can accomplish with discipline, dedication, and hard work."

Geneva’s Got Talent 2016 started with 31 acts auditioning on May 7. Sixteen semi-finalists were chosen to perform on Wednesday, June 22 on Swedish Days Central Stage:. Those semi-finalists included: Jessica Blakely, Kaidyn King, Grace Lagattolla, Grace Lenaghan, Matt Skirmont, Addelyn McDonald, Kiley Murray, Katie O'Brien, Aida Skaraite, Meagan Clemens, Ryan Cichon, Maya Hawkins, Fire the Canon, LiveWire, Dance Dynamics, and Batavia Academy of Dance.

Due to inclement weather, the semi-finals were cancelled and all sixteen performers moved on to the finals. Judges votes, combined with Facebook votes, determined the 2016 winner.

“This is a great event that brings the community and people of all ages together for free summer fun. The array of talent each year is just phenomenal. We look forward to seeing even more talent audition for the 2017 Geneva’s Got Talent Competition next May,” said Traci Wicks, Director of Marketing & Public Relations for the Geneva Park District.

Geneva’s Got Talent is a collaboration between the Geneva Park District and the Geneva Chamber of Commerce and was a part of the 2016 Swedish Days Festival.
