GLEN ELLYN, IL — Jonathan Charbonneau, Glen Ellyn's beloved "Superman" is set to be the grand marshal for the village's 2026 Fourth of July Parade.
Charbonneau has been making appearances dressed as Superman in Glen Ellyn for over 35 years. In 2018, the community rallied behind Charbonneau, who is on the autism spectrum, raising more than $41,000 to help him afford a rent increase at his long-time residence.
Charbonneau's story was the subject of the award-winning documentary "Saving Superman," which was produced by Brendan Fraser.
Glen Ellyn's Fourth of July Parade will step off at 12 p.m. from near Glenbard West High School.
