The MAC's Lakeside Pavilion rounds out its July free concerts with Uptown Thursday, July 30 at 7:30 p.m.
Fusing Bruno-Mars-caliber stage presence with top-tier vocals and wall-to-wall choreography, the men of Uptown combine the smooth stylings of R&B with the fresh hits of today in a unique and modern show that gets crowds on their feet. Born in New York City, the group exudes unparalleled energy with their blend of contemporary radio hits and classic Motown music. Each member of Uptown is a world-class soloist. When they come together as one collective, the resulting remix creates "the most electrifying show you'll see this decade!" (Agua Caliente, Palm Springs CA)..
The Uptown performance takes place at MAC's Lakeside Pavilion, located on the campus of College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn, Ill. The Lakeside Pavilion opens 90 minutes before each performance. Concessions will be available. In case of inclement weather, events will move indoors to the Belushi Performance Hall and a notice will be posted on the MAC's website.
To enhance the Lakeside food vendors and a bar will be available. No outside alcohol is permitted. Picnicking is welcome in a designated area, while the central lawn will be reserved for seating to maximize capacity.
Guests are encouraged to bring nonperishable food donations to benefit the Glen House Food Pantry and COD Student Fuel Pantry. For more information visit AtTheMAC.org.
In addition to the concert, attendees can also take in the free outdoor exhibition "Walking With Giants" honoring America's artistic legacy with 10-foot-tall sculptures of 10 of America's favorite visual, music, theater and dance artists.
