WHEATON, IL — Starting Oct. 1, eligible DuPage County residents can apply for financial assistance with their gas, electric and propane services as the colder months approach. The assistance is part of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).
The program gives one-time assistance to low-income customers. DuPage County residents who use propane are encouraged to apply early to get ahead of winter's rising propane prices.
Here's what residents need to provide when they apply.
As of Oct. 1, the following individuals may apply for LIHEAP.
The program will begin accepting applications from other DuPage County residents on Nov. 1.
As of Sept. 17, residents can call 630-407-6500 or 800-942-9412 schedule an application appointment.
