GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn residents will be able to buy discounted train station parking permits in 2027 and 2028 amid planned construction on the village's new downtown train station and pedestrian underpass.
Train station parking permits will cost $460 a year for residents and $690 a year for nonresidents, pricing the village says is similar to permits for its other commuter lots.
"The reduced rate recognizes that Train Station permit holders will eventually need to park farther from the station during construction and that the timing of that relocation remains uncertain," an update from the Village of Glen Ellyn said.
No construction start date has been announced for the project. Commuters can still use the train station lot and will be notified before construction effects parking, the update said.
After construction begins, commuters with train station parking permits will have their permits reassigned to the commuter lot at Duane and Lorraine.
According to village officials, daily parking will also be impacted once construction starts. This will mean Passport Parking spots that were available at Duane/Lorraine and Main/Prairie will shift to the Duane/Forest parking lot.
