2 Glenview Students Named National Scholarship Winners

GLENVIEW, IL — The National Merit Scholarship Corporation named the final group of winners of 2024 National Merit Scholars Monday, including two students from Glenview. These scholar designees join more than 2,900 other college-sponsored award recipients who were announced in June, according to the Evanston-based organization.

The winners from Glenview include:

• Grant C. Lentz, Glenbrook South High School, National Merit Boston University Scholarship. Probable career field: Finance
• Colleen S. Schindler, of Glenview, New Trier High School, National Merit University of Southern California Scholarship. Probable career field: English Literature

The college-sponsored awards provide between $500 and $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study at the institution financing the scholarship. In all, 149 colleges and universities are sponsoring approximately 3,700 Merit Scholarship awards for 2024. Sponsor colleges include 77 private and 72 public institutions located in 42 states and the District of Columbia.
