90-Year-Old Burgled, Car Stolen From Garage, 8 Vehicles Vandalized: Glenview Crime Reports

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department as a record of police activity and of incidents reported to the police. An arrest is not an indication of guilt and criminal charges represent merely accusations by the state. All defendants are innocent unless their guilt is established in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 500 block of Shermer Road reported at 3:30 on May 16 that someone made charges in March on a credit card they never requested or received in the mail. There was no reported loss.

BATTERY
A Northbrook resident reported a man punched him after an argument outside on the street in the 2300 block of Lehigh Avenue on May 17 at 8:41 a.m.

TELEPHONE HARASSMENT
At 1:48 a.m. on May 18, a resident reported someone claimed to have found their lost pet and was repeatedly calling for monetary compensation.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY / STOLEN VEHICLE
A resident in the 800 block of Queens Lane reported on the morning of May 18 that sometime during the night someone had entered their unlocked garage and stolen a vehicle, described as a recent-model black crossover, that was parked inside for a loss of $21,000.
FRAUD
An employee in the 100 block of Astellas Way reported May 18 that on May 11 someone used a credit card to purchase items for a reported loss of approximately $270.
THEFT
A resident of Northfield reported their bicycle was stolen from the 2300 block of Lehigh Avenue at 11:20 a.m. on May 18 for a reported loss of approximately $400.
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 3000 block of Valcour Drive reported someone had used false pretenses to gain personal information about them, which they used to file a series of nuisance lawsuits under a false name. It was reported to police on May 19 at 2:24 p.m. and remains under investigation.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE REPORTS: NIGHT OF MAY 19-20
Note: Most of the damage to appears to have been caused by a rock or brick. Residents reported a series of broken windows and damaged mirrors thought to have occurred in the same night.
- A resident in the 700 block of Lincoln Street reported at 2:47 a.m. on May 20 that someone had damaged their vehicle parked in the same block for a reported loss of $150.
- A resident in the 4200 block Linden Tree Lane reported shortly after 3 a.m. on May 20 that someone had damaged their vehicle parked in the 2100 block of Robincrest Lane for a reported loss of $300.
- A resident in the 2100 block of Robincrest Lane reported shortly after 3 a.m. on May 20 that someone had damaged their vehicle parked in the 2100 block of Robincrest Lane for a reported loss of $400.
- A resident of West Allis, Wisconsin reported at 3:13 a.m. on May 20 that someone had damaged their rental vehicle parked in the 600 block of Spruce Street for a reported loss of $200.
- A resident in the 2000 block of Larkdale Drive reported at 3:13 a.m. on May 20 that someone had damaged their vehicle parked in the 2000 block of Larkdale Drive, breaking a window for a reported loss of $200.
- A resident in the 400 block of Elm Street reported at 8 a.m. on May 20 that someone had damaged their vehicle parked in the 400 block of Elm Street, breaking glass for a reported loss of $300.
- A resident in the 400 block of Elm Street reported at 8:19 a.m. on May 20 that someone had damaged the front yard light post located on their property for a reported loss of $300.
- A resident in the 400 block of Elm Street reported at 8:25 a.m. on May 20 that someone had damaged their vehicle parked in the 400 block of Elm Street for a reported loss of $200.
IDENTITY THEFT
A resident in the 2000 block of Henley Street reported at 8:38 a.m. on May 20 that someone had opened a credit card in their name, but there was no reported loss.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
At 10:14 a.m. on May 20, a resident in the 2100 block of Robincrest Lane reported someone damaged landscaping lights located on their property for a reported loss of $100.
TELEPHONE HARASSMENT
An employee of a business in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue reported a former customer of the business was constantly calling and swearing at them at 7:13 a.m. on May 21.
HOME BURGLARY BY RUSE
A 90-year-old resident of the 400 block of Sheryl Lane reported shortly after 4 p.m. on May 22 that someone had come to the door and claimed to be a new neighbor. The person was invited in under false pretenses. After leaving, the resident was unable to locate some items for a reported loss of $4,500.
SHOPLIFTING
An employee for a business in the 20 block of Waukegan Road reported at 4:20 p.m. on May 22 a person, described as a Hispanic woman, took several bottles of liquor and left the store without paying, fleeing in a black sedan. The reported loss was about $250.
CREDIT CARD FRAUD
A Winnetka resident reported shortly after 8 p.m. on May 22 that someone had used their credit card at a business in the 1900 block of Tower Drive for no reported loss.
ARRESTS
RETAIL THEFT
April Villalon, 19, of the 1000 block of Sanders Road in Northbrook, was arrested May 15 at 2:50 p.m. and charged with retail theft in the 2200 Block of Willow Road. Police said she stole more than $500 in clothing and cosmetics. She was processed and released with a July 13 court date.
REVOKED LICENSE
Isaac Cato, 42, of the 12600 block of South Greenwood in Blue Island, was arrested May 15 at 5:36 p.m. and charged with driving while license revoked and expired registration after a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Willow Road. He was processed and released with a June 19 court date.
DUI
Lynn Williams, 38, of the 400 block of Washington Road, was arrested shortly before 10 p.m. on May 16 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving with a BAC of .08 or more, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage, no proof of insurance after a traffic stop in the 1900 block of Colfax Avenue. He was processed and released with a June 16 court date.
WARRANT / NO LICENSE
Patricia Hauser, 52, of the 4500 block of Concord Lane in Northbrook, was arrested May 17 at 6:25 p.m. and charged with no valid driver’s license and operating an uninsured motor vehicle after a crash in the 1400 block of Meadow Drive. Hauser had a Lake County warrant for Forgery which was also served. He posted bond on both charges. She has a court date for the Glenview charges June 16 and for the Lake County charge June 15.
