Aggravated Discharge Of Firearm Arrest: Glenview Police Blotter
Glenview police also reported retail thefts, identity thefts, a commercial burglary and DUI arrests.
GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and arrests made by police. An arrest is not a finding of guilt.
AGGRAVATED DISCHARGE OF FIREARM
Jose Gomez Rojas, 50, of the 2800 block of Brookside Avenue, Waukegan, was arrested at 2:42 p.m. June 29, and charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm following an investigation into a traffic dispute in the 900 block of Indian Road. Gomez Rojas was held in custody pending transport for a conditions hearing June 30 at the Skokie Courthouse.

THEFT
- A resident reported at 10:57 a.m. June 30, that someone stole an Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. while the resident was at a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road.
- A resident of the 200 block of Lincoln Street reported at 3:33 p.m. July 2, that an e-bike was stolen from the 2200 block of Fir Street between 12:14 p.m. and 1:14 p.m. The loss was valued at $1,300. Complaints will be signed, police said.
- A resident reported at 4:59 p.m. July 6, that a debit card lost in March was fraudulently charged several times at a business in the 200 block of Waukegan Road. Police said the charges totaled $1,410.60 over dozens of transactions.

- A resident of the 200 block of Glenview Road reported at 3:32 p.m. July 1, that someone fraudulently obtained the resident’s credit card information and verification code under the guise of a golf cart repair deposit. Police said the person attempted to add the card to a Google Pay account and attempted a fraudulent charge that was blocked by the bank.
- Officers responded at 5:44 p.m. July 1, to a report of identity theft at 2500 East Lake Avenue, where a resident reported someone fraudulently filed for unemployment benefits using the resident’s personal information. The claim was reversed after the fraud was reported, police said.
- A resident of the 300 block of Elm Street reported at 2:45 p.m. July 3, that someone opened an AT&T account in the resident’s name May 23. Police said there was no financial loss.
- A resident reported at 5:48 p.m. July 6, that someone used a variation of the resident’s name and home address to fraudulently open an AT&T account and finance an iPhone 17 Pro Max without the resident’s knowledge or authorization.
RETAIL THEFT
- Employees at a business in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 11:19 a.m. July 2, that someone took three boxes of sweet potatoes and left past the last point of purchase without paying. The loss was valued at $90. Complaints will be signed, police said.
- Employees at a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported at 2:33 p.m. July 2, that someone walked out of the store with a cart filled with alcohol without paying. Police said an employee chased the person down and recovered the merchandise. Officers spoke with the offender, who was given a trespass warning not to return.
- Yeeun Sung, 37, of the 1200 block of Wendy Drive, Northbrook, was arrested at 10:57 a.m. July 2, in the 2200 block of Willow Road, and charged with retail theft exceeding $300. Sung was processed and released under Cook County non-discretionary pretrial release conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court July 7 at the Skokie Courthouse.
BATTERY
- An employee at a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road reported at 9:49 p.m. July 3, being battered by a Highwood resident. Police said the person denied the allegations.
- Alton Willis, 59, of the 2000 block of Winter Avenue, North Chicago, was arrested at 8:45 a.m. July 2, at the Glenview Police Department, and charged with two counts of battery following an investigation into an incident that occurred June 21 in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road. Willis was processed and released under Cook County non-discretionary pretrial release conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court July 27 at the Skokie Courthouse.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
Officers responded at 3:41 a.m. July 5, to a business alarm in the 800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Police said officers found an open door and broken glass. The person involved took multiple items and left southbound on Milwaukee Avenue.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
Officers responded at 6:52 a.m. July 5, to the 600 block of Zenith Drive for a report of a damaged garbage can and storage bin caused by an unknown person.
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
- Michelle Kaufman, 29, of the 1200 block of Harding Avenue, Des Plaines, was arrested at 10 p.m. July 4, and charged with driving while license suspended and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after a traffic crash investigation in the 1700 block of Greenwood Road. She was processed and released under Cook County non-discretionary pretrial release conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 11 at the Skokie Courthouse.
- Jill Sommers, 56, of Glenview, was arrested at 11:19 p.m. July 4, and charged with driving while license suspended, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and following too closely after a traffic crash investigation at West Lake Avenue and Greenwood Road. She was processed and released under Cook County non-discretionary pretrial release conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court July 28 at the Skokie Courthouse.
- Bolvar Velazquez, 30, of the 1600 block of Dempster Street, Park Ridge, was arrested at 10:28 a.m. June 29, in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue, and charged with driving while suspended following a traffic stop. Velazquez was cited and released under Cook County non-discretionary pretrial release conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court July 28 at the Skokie Courthouse.
NO VALID DRIVER’S LICENSE
Grace Wright, 40, of Glenview, was arrested at 3:04 p.m. July 2, in the 9000 block of Milwaukee Avenue, and charged with no valid driver’s license, failure to wear a seat belt and possession of less than 10 grams of cannabis following a traffic stop. Wright was street-booked and released under Cook County non-discretionary pretrial release conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 11 at the Skokie Courthouse.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
Turgunai Asanova, 31, of the 5300 block of North California Avenue, Chicago, was arrested at 8:30 a.m. June 30, in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue, and charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over .08 following a traffic crash investigation. Asanova was processed and released under Cook County non-discretionary pretrial release conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court July 31 at the Skokie Courthouse.
SPEEDING
Muhammad Butt, 20, of the 9000 block of West Heathwood Drive, Niles, was arrested at 4:49 p.m. June 30, in the 800 block of Greenwood Road, and charged with speeding 26-34 mph over the limit following a traffic stop. Butt was cited and released at the scene under Cook County non-discretionary pretrial release conditions, and is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 11 at the Skokie Courthouse.
DOMESTIC BATTERY
Jalentin Garcia Delgado, 45, of Glenview, was arrested at 7:53 p.m. June 30, at his residence and charged with domestic battery following an investigation. Garcia Delgado was processed and transported to Cook County Jail pending a conditions hearing.
WARRANT
Isaias Mendoza, 40, of the 2400 block of Lee Street, Evanston, was arrested at 7:03 p.m. June 29, at the Glenview Police Department, and charged with a McHenry County warrant. Mendoza posted bond and was discharged with a July 14 court date at the McHenry County Courthouse.
