Air Raid Sirens Sound Off in Glenview
The emergency system in the village was activated by accident before midnight.
GLENVIEW, IL - Residents of Glenview were startled Thursday night when they were awaken or alerted to the sound of what many described on Twitter as the “air raid” sirens.
The tornado sirens in the village were indeed activated around 11:30 p.m., but there was no reason for anyone to be alarmed.
According to Jim Foley, spokesperson for the Glenview Police Department, the sirens sounding off was “an improper activation during a training segment.”
