'Fire Inspector' Convinces Employees To Withdraw $19K Out Of Safe: Glenview Police Blotter

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. BATTERY

Taghred Mohamed, 54, of the 9100 block of Potter Road, Des Plaines, is accused of three counts of battery, and was arrested at 1:04 p.m. May 5, at the Glenview Police Department. The charges stemmed from a reported incident in the 2400 block of Patriot Boulevard. She was released and assigned a court date of June 9.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED

Daniel M. Aguiniga, 23, of the 1500 block of Quaker Lane, Prospect Heights, who had a warrant, is accused of driving while license suspended, unlawful possession of cannabis by a driver, illegal transportation of alcohol, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, disobeying a traffic control sign, and was arrested at 1:19 p.m. May 4, in the 9600 block of Greenwood Road. He was taken into custody and turned over to the Lake County Sheriff's Office.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

STALKING

Anthony Lioce, 54, of the 500 block of N. Seymour Avenue, Mundelein, is accessed of stalking, and was arrested at 11 a.m. April 28, at the Glenview Police Department. The charge stemmed from an alleged incident on March 26.

OBSTRUCTING IDENTIFICATION

Mindy Dean, 47, of the 700 block of Garfield Boulevard, Chicago, is accused of obstructing identification, had a warrant out of DuPage County, and was arrested at 1 a.m. May 1, in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

RETAIL THEFT

Christopher Balaban, 46, of the 3200 block of Karen Court, Joliet, is accused of four counts of retail theft, and was arrested at 12:24 p.m. April 28, at the Glenview Police Department. The charges stemmed from an reported incident on Sept. 28, 2025.

RECKLESS DRIVING

Marzena Kalembasa, 37, of the 1900 block of Elm Street, Park Ridge, is accused of speeding 35+mph over the limit, reckless driving, failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash, driving too fast for conditions, and was arrested at 11:37 a.m. April 28, at the Glenview Police Department. The charges stem from an investigation into a fatal crash on Nov 20, 2025 in the 700 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was released and assigned a court date of May 19.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARY

An employee for a business in the 3400 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 9:35 a.m. April 30, a terminated employee can be seen on video surveillance breaking into the
business and taking items.

THEFT

Employees for a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported at 10:38 a.m. April 30, an employee had received a call from an unknown person identifying themselves as the fire
inspector. They were told to send photos of the fire extinguishers and withdraw money from the safe to turn over, which they complied. Total loss is $19,000

TRESPASS WARNING

A resident of the 1500 block of Plymouth Place reported at 7:08 p.m. May 3, their neighbor was seen on surveillance video walking near the back door of the residence and looking
in the windows. Officers spoke with the neighbor and gave them a trespass notice not to go on the property.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A resident of the 1400 block of Blackthorn Drive reported at 8:18 p.m. May 4, a male had defecated on the private sidewalk in the 1200 block of Waukegan Road. Officers contacted the person who was given a verbal warning.
