Man On Electric Bike Eludes Cop: Glenview Police Blotter

The bicyclist did not stop, turned around and traveled onto Willow Road, while continuing to evade the officer.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Geraldo Algarin, 37, of the 3300 block of N. Pacific Avenue, Chicago, is accused of possession with intent to manufacture/deliver controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and was arrested at 8:58 p.m. May 7, in the 7200 block of Dempster Street. He was released and assigned a court date of May 11.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

Nicholas Belmont, 39, of the 300 block of Prairie Avenue, Highwood, is accused of aggravated driving under the influence, illegal transportation of alcohol, DUI alcohol, and was arrested at 10:36 a.m. May 8, in the 4000 block of West Lake Avenue. He was released and assigned a court date of May 12.

INCIDENTS

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A resident of the 1400 block of Kittyhawk Lane reported at 11:20 a.m. May 5, that while having their vehicle serviced, the mechanics located a possible tracking device. They do not
know who would have put it on their car or when.

RETAIL THEFT

DECEPTIVE PRACTICE

A business in the 300 block of Waukegan Road reported at 11:09 a.m. May 7, that checks that had been deposited to their account were later being cashed by unknown people. They believe they were being copied or washed. Total loss is $5,000.

FLEEING/ELUDING

At 10:27 p.m. May 7, police had attempted to stop an unknown male driving an electric bicycle in the traffic lanes of the 2400 block of Sanders Road. The bicyclist did not stop, turned around and traveled onto Willow Road, while continuing to evade the officer. Officers did not pursue.

VEHICLE THEFT

A Glendale Heights resident reported on May 11 that a semi-tractor had been taken without permission from the 1500 block of Paddock Drive. It was last seen on April 24
