Citizen Starts Fire To Burn Items From Past Relationship: Glenview Police Blotter

Police also responded to reports of a naked man urinating in an alley and an Amazon driver entering a home.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal
al charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED OR REVOKED

WARRANTS

DOMESTIC BATTERY

Jerome Anderson, 39, of the 200 block of Fernwood Lane in Glenview, is accused of aggravated assault and domestic battery after turning himself in to police at 3:44 p.m. May 15, following an investigation into an incident reported the previous night at his residence. He was held pending a conditions hearing.

LEAVING THE SCENE

Trejo Medrano, 41, of West Panorama Drive in Palatine, is accused of leaving the scene of an accident after being arrested at 6:44 p.m. May 14, in the 4200 block of West Lake Avenue. He was released and assigned a June 4 court date.

FAILURE TO GIVE INFORMATION

Chang Kim, 52, of Ridge Court in Schaumburg, is accused of failure to give information after damaging an unattended vehicle following a crash investigation. He was arrested at 10:53 a.m. May 18, at the Glenview Police Department. He was released and assigned a June 9 court date.

RETAIL THEFT

BURGLARY FROM VEHICLE

A resident reported at 2:41 p.m. May 12, that money was stolen from a purse left inside an unlocked vehicle in the 2800 block of West Lake Avenue. The resident said the vehicle had been parked there between about 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. Complaints are expected to be signed.

HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION

A resident of the 1600 block of Primrose Lane reported at 4:04 p.m. May 12, receiving unwanted messages from the former owner of a Chicago business they now own over a money dispute.

THEFT

A resident in the 4000 block of Denice Court reported at 6:42 p.m. May 12, that a handgun was taken from the residence. Complaints are expected to be signed.

DISPUTE

A Northfield resident reported at 7 p.m. May 12, getting into a verbal dispute with an employee at a business in the 0 block of Waukegan Road. The customer said the employee was rude, while the employee said the customer became verbally aggressive and refused to leave when asked. The customer was issued a trespass warning.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS

A resident of the 2700 block of Park Lane reported at 8:59 a.m. May 15, that an Amazon delivery driver opened an unlocked door and entered the residence while delivering a package the previous afternoon. The resident yelled at the driver, who then left the package outside, took a proof-of-delivery photo and left. Complaints are expected to be signed.

TRESPASS WARNING

SUSPICIOUS PERSON

A resident of the 3000 block of Lexington Lane reported at 3:10 p.m. May 15, that a neighbor saw a man delivering a package enter an open garage. Surveillance video reportedly showed the man and a white SUV.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT

A Wisconsin resident reported at 10:10 a.m. May 16, that a man in the 600 block of Carriage Hill Drive was naked and urinating in an alley before allegedly chasing them. The resident said they were alarmed by the behavior but declined to sign complaints. Police identified the man.

ORDINANCE VIOLATION

Officers responded at 10:05 p.m. May 16, to the 700 block of Huber Lane for a small fire. Police said a person started the fire to burn items connected to a past relationship and was issued a village ordinance ticket for open burning.

ASSAULT

Employees at a business in the 3500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 10:19 p.m. May 17, that an intoxicated person outside a rear entrance threatened workers by claiming to have a gun after being denied entry. The person was issued a trespass warning.

IDENTITY THEFT

A resident of the 1500 block of Sequoia Trail reported at 12:54 p.m. May 18, receiving text messages confirming a Staples purchase involving a PlayStation ordered with the resident’s credit card and set to be delivered to Wisconsin. The resident canceled the order and froze credit cards. Complaints are expected to be signed.
