GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. ARRESTS
DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED
- Diego Uguna-Sumba, 34, of the 600 block of Lorraine Avenue in Waukegan, is accused of driving on a suspended license and no seat belt after being arrested at 4:02 p.m. May 22, in the 3100 block of Glenway Drive. He was released and assigned a July 9 court date.
- Stephanie Perry, 42, of the 1500 block of Greenwood Road, is accused of driving on a suspended driver’s license and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident after being arrested at 7:14 p.m. May 20, in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue following a crash investigation. She was released and assigned a June 29 court date.
RETAIL THEFT
- Deandrae Walker, 36, of the 600 block of Homan Avenue in Chicago, is accused of felony retail theft from Jewel, 1340 Patriot Blvd., after being arrested May 22 on a Glenview warrant by another police agency. He was transported to the Glenview Police Department, processed and released with a May 27 court date.
AGGRAVATED DUI
- Jose Luis Pacheco Bernardino, 20, of the 1900 block of Washington Drive in Des Plaines, is accused of aggravated DUI, DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, no insurance and no valid driver’s license after being arrested at 11:23 p.m. May 24, in the 500 block of Michael Manor following a crash investigation. He was released and assigned a May 27 court date.
LEAVING THE SCENE
- Darren Kojro, 49, of the 3200 block of Harrison Street, is accused of leaving the scene of an accident and improper turn after being arrested at 4:20 p.m. May 24, at his residence following a crash investigation. He was released and assigned a June 24 court date.
INCIDENTS
TRESPASS WARNING
- Officers responded at 1:57 p.m. May 19, to a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue for a person pounding on an employee door and yelling at staff. The person reportedly threatened suicide if employees did not help and was issued a trespass warning.
THEFT
- A Park Ridge resident reported at 5 a.m. May 20, falling asleep with belongings in the lobby of a business in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue around 2 a.m. and waking up to find a backpack and luggage missing. Complaints are expected to be signed.
- A resident in the 1500 block of Huntington Lane reported at 2:42 p.m. May 21, that jewelry went missing from the residence earlier this month. The reported loss was $18,800. Complaints are expected to be signed.
- A Florida resident reported at 11:15 a.m. May 22, that a bag containing jewelry valued at more than $160,000 was taken from a safety deposit box behind the counter of a business in the 1400 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Complaints are expected to be signed.
- A resident of the 1800 block of Ridgewood Lane West reported at 3:40 p.m. May 24, that a wallet was taken from the lower rack of a shopping cart at a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road. Several attempted credit card transactions were later declined. Complaints are expected to be signed.
- A resident of the 3500 block of Meadow Lane reported at 12:42 p.m. May 25, that part of a gift card redemption code had been scratched off before the card was purchased at a business in the 3300 block of Glenview Road. The resident said $500 had been loaded onto the card but could no longer be accessed.
- A resident of the 1500 block of Blackthorn Drive reported at 4:51 p.m. May 25, that a bicycle and chain lock were stolen from a bicycle rack in the 1100 block of Depot Street sometime between May 21 and May 22. The reported loss was $150.
FORGERY
- Employees at a business in the 1300 block of Waukegan Road reported at 6:06 p.m. May 20, that a man attempted to use a counterfeit $100 bill to pay for food. Employees said the bill appeared suspicious and was rejected by an ATM at a nearby bank. The suspect was last seen walking south on Waukegan Road.
AGGRAVATED ASSAULT
- A Des Plaines resident reported at 6:25 p.m. May 20, that another driver aggressively brake-checked their vehicle near Central Road and Milwaukee Avenue before pointing what appeared to be a gun at them. Complaints are expected to be signed.
HARASSMENT BY ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATION
- Three friends reported at 10:40 p.m. May 20, receiving unwanted text messages from unknown numbers containing personal information about each other that they believed was intended to create conflict between them. No threats were reported.
COMMERCIAL BURGLARY
- A business in the 1600 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 1 p.m. May 21, that a man entered the business early May 20 and stole a cash register, about $500 and several liquor bottles. The reported loss was approximately $1,800. Complaints are expected to be signed.
FLEEING AND ELUDING POLICE
- Officers reported at midnight May 22, observing a vehicle traveling between 70 and 105 mph in the 3100 block of Milwaukee Avenue, where the speed limit is 45 mph. Police said the driver failed to stop after emergency lights were activated and reached speeds of 107 mph before officers ended the attempted stop. Complaints are expected to be signed.
- Officers attempted to stop a speeding vehicle at 11:38 a.m. May 25, in the 2800 block of Sanders Road, but the driver continued southbound before cutting through the H-Mart parking lot at Sanders Road and Milwaukee Avenue. Police lost sight of the vehicle.
FIREARM VIOLATION
- Officers responded at 9:55 a.m. May 23, to a business in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue for abandoned property and recovered a firearm with a defaced serial number, a 17-round magazine, a 9mm round and five Polymer P80 kits.
