GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and arrests made by officers. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and may be dropped or reduced. Everyone arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
A resident reported July 30 that they were defrauded of $116,500 after being contacted by someone identifying himself as "Daryle Davis."
Over several days, the caller convinced the resident to make multiple wire transfers and Zelle payments under the false pretense that he was investigating a fraudulent Apple Pay transaction.
A resident in the 3100 block of Bellwood Lane reported July 25 that an unidentified man posing as an internet installer went door to door in a small white van.
Police said the man displayed residents' personal information on a mobile device while attempting to gain entry to homes. He left before officers arrived.
A resident in the 1700 block of Dewes Street reported July 28 that an electric bicycle was stolen from a driveway.
A resident reported July 29 that a catalytic converter was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 600 block of Waukegan Road.
The theft occurred sometime overnight between July 26 and July 27.
A resident in the 4100 block of Cove Lane reported July 29 that the rear license plate was stolen from a parked vehicle.
A resident in the 1700 block of Wagner Road reported July 30 that automotive parts valued at $1,674.62 were stolen after being delivered by UPS.
Employees at a business in the 2800 block of Pfingsten Road reported July 31 that two women placed alcohol and electronic devices into a bag and left without paying.
The merchandise was valued at $220.
Employees at a business in the 1500 block of Waukegan Road reported a suspected retail theft Aug. 2. A Northbrook resident denied stealing anything and was issued a trespass warning.
Officers responded Aug. 3 to a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road after receiving a report that a woman was asking customers for money and harassing them.
The Chicago resident was issued a trespass warning and left without further incident.
Later that day, officers responded to a business in the 2100 block of Pfingsten Road for a report of someone causing a disturbance.
The person was taken to a train station and issued a trespass warning.
A resident in the 2200 block of Harrison Street reported Aug. 3 that someone called while claiming to represent the Cook County Sheriff's Office.
The resident provided their name, address and date of birth before the call disconnected. When the resident called the number back, someone answered claiming to be with the Denver County Police Department.
Latoya Sallie, 45, of Northbrook, was arrested Aug. 2 in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road following a report of an intoxicated person.
Sallie was charged with driving under the influence and released pending a Sept. 17 court appearance in Skokie.
Juan Casillas Reyes, 23, of Cicero, was arrested July 31 in the 2600 block of Sanders Road and charged with driving 26 to 34 mph over the speed limit.
He was released pending a Sept. 14 court date in Skokie.
Mahaz Sawda, 24, of Glenview, was arrested Aug. 1 following a traffic stop in the 3100 block of Sanders Road.
Sawda was charged with driving 26 to 34 mph over the speed limit and released pending an Aug. 31 court date.
Noah Pollack, 19, was arrested Aug. 2 in the 200 block of Shermer Road and charged with driving 26 to 34 mph over the speed limit.
Pollack was released pending a Sept. 2 court date.
Daniel Fisher, 39, was arrested July 29 following a traffic stop in the 700 block of Waukegan Road.
Fisher was charged with driving 26 to 34 mph over the speed limit and released pending an Aug. 28 court date.
Aida Tipan-Ona, 38, of Chicago, was arrested Aug. 1 following a traffic stop and charged with driving without a valid license.
She was released pending a Sept. 2 court appearance.
Amauri Brindiz Mejia, 21, of Northfield, was arrested July 29 in the 2600 block of Sanders Road.
He was charged with driving without a valid license and driving 26 to 34 mph over the speed limit. Brindiz Mejia was released pending an Aug. 27 court date.
Edith Okello, 27, of Herriman, Utah, was arrested July 29 following a traffic stop in the 500 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
Okello was charged with driving with a suspended license and released pending an Aug. 28 court appearance.
