GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.
A business in the 2000 block of Chestnut Avenue reported Aug. 5 that it shipped $178,164 worth of products to an address in Elizabeth, New Jersey, after being contacted by two men.
The business never received payment for the merchandise, police said. The reported loss was $178,164.
Robert Shannon Franklin, 58, of Morton Grove, was arrested Aug. 3 following an investigation into an incident in the 1900 block of Glenview Road.
Franklin was charged with vehicular hijacking, possession of a stolen motor vehicle and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to police.
He was held in custody pending transport for a detention hearing. The Aug. 5 police summary included the vehicular hijacking among that period's arrests.
A California resident reported Aug. 8 that a man displayed a firearm during a dispute between motorists in the 3800 block of Willow Road.
The man then left the area on Sanders Road, police said.
A resident in the 2500 block of Indigo Lane reported Aug. 7 that a company providing care for a family member had been cashing checks for services purportedly provided to another family member who was deceased.
Police said the additional checks totaled $92,260.
Oscar Rodrigues-Garcia, 36, of Elmwood Park, was arrested Aug. 9 and charged with domestic battery following an investigation in Glenview.
Rodrigues-Garcia was processed and held at the Glenview Police Department pending transportation for a conditions hearing. Glenview's Aug. 10 arrest summary lists domestic battery and DUI arrests.
Maria Hughes, 23, was arrested Aug. 3 and charged with domestic battery and violation of an order of protection following an investigation at a residence.
Hughes was transported to the Skokie Courthouse the following day for a conditions hearing. The charges were included in Glenview's Aug. 5 arrest summary.
Randi Soto, 31, of Waukegan, was arrested Aug. 4 by Vernon Hills police on a Glenview warrant.
Soto was charged with residential burglary and identity theft stemming from an incident at a Glenview residence in 2023. She was held in custody pending a detention hearing.
Eugene Boudart, 71, was arrested Aug. 4 in the 3000 block of Springdale Avenue and charged with driving under the influence following a call for service.
He was processed and released under Cook County non-discretionary pretrial release conditions and assigned an Aug. 27 court date in Skokie.
Sergio Vanegas-Sanchez, 54, of Bellwood, was arrested Aug. 10 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol following a suspicious-vehicle call in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
He was processed and released and assigned a Sept. 17 court date in Skokie.
Robert Fentress, 26, of Chicago, was arrested Aug. 3 in the 2600 block of East Lake Avenue.
Fentress was charged with reckless driving, improper operation of a motorcycle, operating an uninsured vehicle, failure to obtain registration and a driver's license classification violation.
He was released pending a Sept. 2 court date in Skokie.
Tywan Locke, 26, of Lansing, was arrested Aug. 4 in the 700 block of Glenridge Drive and charged with resisting a peace officer and soliciting without a permit.
He was released pending a Sept. 17 court appearance in Skokie.
Azbyar Khurelbaatar, 37, was arrested Aug. 6 at the Glenview Police Department and charged with criminal trespass to a residence and criminal damage to property stemming from a February incident at a Glenview residence.
Khurelbaatar was released pending a Sept. 17 court date in Skokie. The arrest was included in the department's Aug. 7 summary.
Jaime Diaz-Nava, 33, of Chicago, was arrested Aug. 5 following a traffic investigation in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
Diaz-Nava was charged with driving without a valid license, operating an uninsured vehicle, expired registration and suspended registration for no insurance.
Maximilian Lee, 39, of Glenview, was arrested later Aug. 5 following a traffic investigation in the 4300 block of West Lake Avenue.
Lee was charged with driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and expired registration.
Both were released and assigned Aug. 27 court dates in Skokie.
A resident reported sending a $200 deposit for a cat advertised on AdoptAPet.com before becoming concerned that the seller was not making promised veterinary appointments.
After the resident confronted the person about a possible scam, communication stopped, police said.
A resident reported Aug. 5 that someone had transferred an Xfinity account to T-Mobile and made two fraudulent Chase bank transactions totaling $2,500. Police said a mortgage application was also submitted in the victim's name but denied.
Another resident reported that someone attempted to use their personal information to finance three vehicles and open an insurance application. Unauthorized credit inquiries resulted, but no monetary loss was reported.
A bicycle valued at $1,275 was reported stolen Aug. 5 from the 1100 block of Depot Street.
A resident reported Aug. 7 that a purse had been missing for approximately a year, with the total loss valued at $10,895.
A Chicago resident reported an EBT card number was used to make a $462.51 purchase at a Glenview business despite the victim still having possession of the physical card. The victim also reported unauthorized transactions in Niles and Northbrook.
A resident reported Aug. 10 that a door at a property in the 3900 block of West Lake Avenue had been broken down several days earlier.
Later that morning, police responded to 2701 Aviator Lane after someone damaged planter boxes and removed artificial plants. Several plants were later found near and inside a golf course drainage pipe. Damage and losses were estimated at $500.
