GLENVIEW, IL — A new restaurant is preparing to open in one of downtown Glenview's best-known historic buildings.
Foxtail at Glen View House will open to the public Thursday at 1843 Glenview Road, following a renovation of the Glen View House space.
The Glenview Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the restaurant Friday, Aug. 14.
Foxtail describes its menu as Mediterranean-inspired with coastal influences, with options ranging from shareable plates and seafood to steaks, pasta and other entrees.
Among the starters are hummus, labneh and muhammara served as part of the Fox Trio, along with roasted cauliflower, kefta kabob, grilled octopus, lobster dynamite and chicken shawarma rolls.
The menu also includes a raw bar with oysters, tuna and hamachi crudo, lobster maki and poke bowls.
Main dishes include beef shawarma, seared branzino, Atlantic salmon, crispy duck risotto and a Foxtail "paella" made with orzo, chicken, andouille sausage, shrimp, mussels, clams and scallops.
The menu also features filet mignon, a 20-ounce bone-in ribeye, roasted lamb chops and frutta di mare.
Foxtail said it aims to blend the character of the historic Glen View House with a more contemporary dining experience.
The restaurant is also offering catering for events including corporate lunches, family gatherings, weddings and other celebrations.
