Glenview Resident Named Board Chair Of Kohl Children's Museum

GLENVIEW, IL — Kohl Children's Museum of Greater Chicago has named longtime board member and Glenview resident Bryan R. Malis as chair of its Board of Trustees.

Malis succeeds Tim Hannahs, who served as board chair from 2023 through 2026, according to the museum.

A member of the museum's board since 2004, Malis previously served as treasurer and chair of its finance committee.

"Bryan Malis has been an invaluable steward of Kohl Children's Museum's financial health for years, and his deep knowledge of our organization makes him exceptionally well prepared to lead our Board into its next chapter," Hannahs said.

"I am confident that under Bryan's leadership, the Museum will continue to grow in service of the children and families who depend on us."

Longtime Museum Board Member

Malis is a founding partner and managing director of Altair Advisers LLC, a Chicago-based independent wealth advisory firm.

He has more than 35 years of experience in financial planning and investment advisory services and also serves on Altair's investment committee.

Before helping found Altair, Malis held senior positions in the financial advisory groups of Arthur Andersen and Deloitte, along with roles at Takaki Close & Associates and Mesirow Financial.

He is a CFA charterholder and a Certified Financial Planner certificant and earned bachelor's degrees in accountancy and finance from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Malis is also a member and former president of the Chicago Estate Planning Council and a member of the CFA Society of Chicago.

Kohl Children's Museum, 2100 Patriot Blvd. in Glenview, offers 17 interactive exhibits geared toward children from birth through age 8.

The museum's mission centers on helping young children learn through self-directed play and hands-on experiences.

It has also been recognized by Parents Magazine as one of the country's top children's museums.
