GLENVIEW, IL — Eight Glenbrook South High School students have been named semifinalists in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.
The students are:
More than 16,000 high school seniors nationwide were named semifinalists. The students represent less than 1 percent of U.S. high school seniors and will compete for approximately 6,700 scholarships worth about $24 million.
Students entered the competition through the 2025 PSAT/NMSQT. Semifinalists must submit a detailed application, maintain an outstanding academic record, receive a recommendation from their school, write an essay and earn qualifying SAT or ACT scores to advance.
About 95 percent are expected to become finalists.
