Threatening Call, Attempted Vehicle Theft: Glenview Police Blotter

Police also reported DUI and drug arrests, a stolen vehicle, retail thefts and an attempt to obtain a car loan using a resident's identity.

GLENVIEW, IL — A threatening phone call and an attempted vehicle theft involving multiple people were among the incidents in the Glenview Police Department's latest reports.

Police also reported two arrests following separate investigations on Milwaukee Avenue.

The following information was provided by the Glenview Police Department. Neither arrests nor charges indicate a conviction, and neither means that a person is guilty of the charges filed against them.

CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE POSSESSION

Niko Vla, 19, of the 3300 block of Lakewood Court, Glenview, was arrested at 12:28 a.m. Oct. 2, in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with possession of a controlled substance, improper lane usage and operating an uninsured motor vehicle following a traffic stop investigation. Vla was processed and released under Cook County non-discretionary pretrial release conditions. A return date at the Skokie courthouse was listed for Oct. 5.

DUI

Sukhbaatar Yadmaa, 46, of the 3500 block of Salem Walk, Northbrook, was arrested at 6:07 p.m. Sept. 29, in the 9600 block of Milwaukee Avenue following an investigation into a crash in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. Yadmaa was charged with aggravated DUI involving no driver's license, DUI, driving while license revoked, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and illegal transportation of alcoholic liquor by a driver. Police also listed issuance of a warrant. Yadmaa remained in custody pending transport to a conditions hearing.

THEFT

Officers responded at 9:13 p.m. Sept. 29, to a business in the 1800 block of Waukegan Road for a report of an unwanted person. Officers met with an intoxicated person who had failed to pay their bill. The person received a trespass warning directing them not to return to the business.

STOLEN VEHICLE

A resident reported at 2:57 p.m. Sept. 30, at the police department lobby that their vehicle had been stolen from their residence in the 2300 block of Indian Ridge Drive.

RETAIL THEFT

Employees of a business in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported at 10:51 a.m. Oct. 1, that a person stole an Apple iPad Air valued at $949 and fled in a vehicle.

WALLET THEFT

A Northbrook resident reported at 12:03 p.m. Oct. 2, that someone stole their wallet, possibly in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road. Complaints were to be signed.

TRESPASS WARNING

Employees of a business in the 600 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 2, that a customer became upset when the business could not accommodate an appointment request. The customer received a trespass warning and left the area.

RECKLESS DRIVING

A Niles resident reported at 6:47 p.m. Oct. 2, that a vehicle nearly struck them in a parking lot in the 2400 block of Chestnut Avenue.

IDENTITY THEFT

A resident of the 700 block of Windsor Road reported at 9:25 a.m. Oct. 3, that someone used their identity to try to obtain a car loan in Missouri. The loan was not approved. Complaints were to be signed.

A resident of the 800 block of Lenox Road reported at 11:53 a.m. Oct. 3, that someone stole their wallet in Evanston and used their credit card twice in Indian Head Park. The total loss was $102. Complaints were to be signed.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE

A Northbrook resident reported at 6:38 p.m. Oct. 3, that their vehicle's rear windshield was broken while they were at a business in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue.

HARASSMENT BY TELEPHONE

Officers responded at 9:04 a.m. Oct. 4, to a residence in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road for a telephone harassment report. The person reported receiving a threatening call from an unknown man who said he would come to the business and kill them.

RETAIL THEFT

Officers responded at 8:46 p.m. Oct. 4, to the 0 block of Waukegan Road for a retail theft report. A man left through an emergency door with approximately $663.84 worth of liquor and fled before officers arrived.

ATTEMPTED VEHICLE THEFT

Officers responded at 1:24 a.m. Oct. 6, to the 1600 block of Greenwood Road for an attempted vehicle theft. Multiple people broke into a vehicle and attempted to steal it before fleeing in a different vehicle.
