April Flowers Bring May Dollars To Glenview
Residents of Glenview can submit photos of spring blooms, while social distancing, and win a $50 gift card.
Staying safe is extremely important these days, especially if we venture outside our homes. There are plenty of things to remember and we must be stay proactive while social distancing. Luckily, the Village of Glenview has kept the rules of its weekly photo contest fairly simple.
"Our aim in providing the contest was to encourage people to explore Glenview’s natural areas while maintaining physical distance to help prevent the spread of COVID-19," said Lyne Stiefel, communications manager for the Village of Glenview. "We know it’s important for our health and well-being during this time of isolation to get outdoors, so we encourage them to take photos during solo bicycle trips or walking trips, using the Village’s already-created green infrastructure bike tour map."
With the contest currently in its third week, residents can enter snapshots of spring blooms, this week's theme, and win a $50 gift card to the Glenview business or restaurant of their choice.

Village officials are contemplating whether to continue the contest beyond this week, but have been pleased with the response.
"We’ll evaluate probably next week to determine if we should do more," Stiefel said. "We were hoping to provide a little diversion and fun as people were going outside more than usual around town."
