GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
INCIDENTS
SHOPLIFTING
An employee in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported around 11 a.m. on April 16 that three female shoplifters had grabbed armfuls of Nike and Adidas athletic wear and run out of a store worth $500, gotten into a dark blue or black Nissan Altima and fled the scene.

Store staff in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported around 3:15 p.m. on April 22 that someone had stolen $107 worth of merchandise by switching tags on clothing, toys, flowers and a backpack before passing through the self-checkout lanes.
A shoplifter twice stole tooth whitening strips from the Mariano's, 25 Waukegan Road. He was described as 25 to 35 years old with brown hair and wearing a black jacket, blue hoodie, blue jeans and brown work boots. He fled in a blue Toyota with more than $384 worth of whitening strips. Store staff discovered he also stole over $532 worth of the strips from the same location around 9 a.m. on April 19.

Staff at the Mariano's reported on April 29 that a suspected repeat shoplifter had stolen more than $350 worth of merchandise.
BATTERY
Staff at a business in the 2500 block of Waukegan Road reported around 2:30 p.m. on April 16 that a customer had slapped the hand of a fellow employee after making unwanted comments.
A Valley Lo Country Club member reported around 9:10 p.m. on April 27 that another member had come up to them, yelling and pointing a finger in their face due to rude behavior by their children in the play area before grabbing them by the neck with both hands and slapping them with an open hand. The victim did not wish to press charges.
TRESPASSING
A resident in the 3100 block of Landwehr Road reported around 9:45 p.m. on April 16 that someone was on their property without permission.
THEFTS
A resident in the 2700 block of Independence Avenue reported around 10:30 a.m. on April 17 that someone stole the front license plate from their vehicle for a loss of $20.
A resident in the 2400 block of Indigo Lane reported around 11 a.m. on April 22 that someone had stolen a box of bandages and costume jewelry from a dresser drawer inside their home for a loss of $355.
Someone stole a $200 bike from the train station in the 1100 block of Depot Street between 5:30 and 7:44 a.m. on April 24 after cutting the cable locking it to a bike rack.
A patron at a grocery store in the first block of Waukegan Road reported someone stole their $1,000 iPhone from a shopping cart between 2:45 and 3;15 p.m. on April 24.
Someone stole an animal trap worth $50 from a business in the 1000 block of Castilian Court between 2:43 p.m. on April 25 and 12:35 p.m. on April 27.
FORGERY
An employee at a restaurant in the 2700 block of Pfingsten Road reported around 5:30 p.m. on April 17 that someone had paid for food and drink with a counterfeit $100 bill.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT
An employee in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue reported around 2:30 p.m. on April 18 that someone had made several threatening comments.
A motel manager in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue reported around 4 p.m. on April 23 there had been numerous noise complaints and possible prostitution in a room and asked the occupants to leave while Glenview police stood by.
A tenant of an Evanston building called up a property management company in the 200 block of Waukegan Road around 4:15 p.m. on April 23 and reported maintenance issues. The tenant said there were driving to the office and said "I'm going to [expletive] you up" to an employee during the conversation. However, the caller did not arrive before the business closed.
IDENTITY THEFTS
A Grove Street resident reported around noon on April 18 that someone had used their identity to buy $2,900 worth of merchandise from Connecticut.
A customer at a business in the 800 block of Waukegan Road reported around 11:45 a.m. on April 22 that someone had stolen a check and withdrawn $8,700 from their bank account.
A Chicago resident who had lost their wallet in the city reported around 11 a.m. on April 24 that a Glenview bank had notified them that someone had presented their driver's license and a check payable to them for $925.
A Wildberry Drive resident reported someone withdrew $12,630.18 from personal and business accounts between April 19 and April 26.
A Bel Air Drive resident reported around 2 p.m. on April 27 that someone had opened a prepaid cellular account using their Verizon account information.
CAR BURGLARIES
Someone stole $2,000 worth of chain saws from a truck parked the lot of a business in the 1600 block of Waukegan Road between 11:34 and 11:44 a.m. on April 19.
Someone stole nearly $9,000 worth of camera equipment from a car parked outside a business in the 1800 block of Johns Drive between 3 and 4 p.m. on April 11, police were told on April 25.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE
A resident in the 1100 block of Elm Street reported around 12:45 p.m. on April 19 that someone had done $450 in damage to the windshield of a vehicle parked on the driveway after 5 p.m. the prior day.
A resident in the 4600 block of Locust Avenue reported around 7:45 a.m. on April 21 that someone had done $160 in damage to landscaping lights and a camera mounted to their house.
A resident in the 1800 block of Admiral Court reported around 4:45 p.m. on April 22 that someone had done $3,000 in damage to their patio furniture.
Someone broke a window and damaged siding on a building in the 600 block of Waukegan Road between 1 and 9:35 p.m. on April 26, causing an estimated $50 in repair costs.
Someone through a large rock through an east-facing window of a building in the 2200 block of Thistle Road shortly after 5 p.m. on April 28. A witness reported a young man running away and fleeing in an older silver car.
A vandal did about $1,200 in damage to the bathroom of the train station in the 1100 block of Depot Street by scratching words into several items and writing with a magic marker on the east side platform. The damage was reported on April 29.
WELL-BEING CHECK
A resident in the 500 block of 5th Street reported seeing a father strike a child in the face with an open hand around 8 p.m. on April 25. Police spoke to the parents and three children and reported they seemed happy and playful and had no physical marks or signs of distress.
HOME BURGLARY ATTEMPT
Officers dispatched to an activated burglar alarm at a home in the 2700 block of Manu Court reported finding pry marks near the handle to a sliding glass around 8:45 p.m. on April 28. It appeared the resident was out of town and the burglar was not able to get in the home.
GIFT CARD SCAM
A Patriot Boulevard resident reported on April 29 that someone had convinced them to buy $2,000 worth of gift cards and give the information to a scammer.

ARRESTS/CITATIONS
Sasa Sekulic, 46, of the 800 block of Skokie Boulevard, Wilmette, was arrested around 12:15 a.m. on April 16 after a traffic stop in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Road in Wheeling. He was charged with theft of a motor vehicle following an investigation into a vehicle reported missing from a car dealership in the 2300 block of Waukegan Road.
Pawel Gorlo, 27, of the 3300 block of North Lockwood Avenue, Chicago, was arrested around 9:30 p.m. on April 16 after a traffic stop in the 9000 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration of 0.08 or more and issued a speeding ticket.
Gandelger Batjargal, 39, of the 9300 block of Vinoy Boulevard in Charlotte, North Carolina, was arrested around 2:15 a.m. on April 21 in the 900 block of Glenview Road. He was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and issued citations for speeding, improper lane usage and expired registration.
An 18-year-old Des Plaines man was arrested around 11 p.m. on April 21 in the 1500 block of Greenwood Road and charged with excessive speeding after police said he was driving more than 35 mph over the posted limit.
An 18-year-old Mount Prospect man was arrested around 1:15 a.m. on April 22 following a traffic stop in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with driving without a valid drivers license and issued a speeding ticket.
Khalil Madhi, 30, of the 5000 block of West Oraibi Drive in Glendale, Arizona, was arrested around 1:45 a.m. on April 22 in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and resisting police.
Kelly Turner, 47, of the 4200 block of West Lake Avenue, Glenview, was arrested at her home around 10:30 a.m. on April 24 and charged with identity theft in connection with an investigation into a Dec. 27, 2018, report of a stolen identity in the 1200 block of Milwaukee Avenue. She was located on a warrant after an attempt to apply for credit at a bank using another person's identity was denied.
Anne Hughes, 54, of the 900 block of Meadowlark Lane, Glenview, was arrested around 4 p.m. on April 25 in the 1700 block of East Lake Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. She was also issued citations for illegal transportation of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident following an investigation into a rear-end traffic crash at a stop light.
Raul Caceres, 24, of the 8900 block of Steven Drive, Des Plaines, was arrested in the 2000 block of Tower Drive on a warrant issued by the Lake County Sheriff's Office for failing to appear in court on a charge of driving with a revoked license.
A 73-year-old Glenview woman was issued a village ordinance citation for theft around 6:15 p.m. on April 25 after staff at the Von Mauer in the 1900 block of Tower Drive reported witnessing her stealing a pair of glasses worth about $90.
Daniel Word, 51, of the first block of South O'Plaine Road, Gurnee, was arrested around 2 a.m. on April 27 in the 5500 block of Euclid Avenue and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and issued a citation for improper lane usage.
An 82-year-old Glencoe man was issued a village ordinance citation on April 29 after staff at the Target in the 2200 block of Willow Road reported him stealing $210.42 worth of merchandise..
