Stealing From ABT is Like Stealing From Family: Blogger

Jason Schwartz, the “Chicago History” blogger for Chicago Now, helped put Tuesday’s attempted smash-and-grab at ABT Electronics in Glenview into perspective with a thorough piece on the family business.

Stealing from ABT, Schwartz writes, “is like stealing from family.”

“The store is essentially a ‘Happy place’ of sorts,” according to Schwartz. “Walk in with excitement, walk out full of smiles. It’s a shoppers paradise and in a day of age where retail sales are down compared to shopping online, Abt continues to thrive & their parking lot is always far, far from empty.”

He also goes into history of Abt, how it started in Chicago and endured a few relocations before finally settling in Glenview in 2002.
