The Glenview Education Association and the Glenview Professional Association recommend Jack Murphy, Chris Northwick and Cathe Russe in the April 9 school board race
The Glenview Education Association (“GEA”) and the Glenview Professional Association (“GPA”) formally gives their support to current Glenview Board of Education members Jack Murphy, Chris Northwick, and Cathe Russe for re-election to the three school board posts in the elections on April 9.
Murphy, Northwick and Russe received the recommendation of the GEA & GPA after their associations conducted candidate interviews on Monday, April 1, 2013. All four candidates running for the three Glenview Board of Education positions were interviewed. The GEA & GPA representatives on the joint interview team asked the board hopefuls questions regarding challenges each believed the Glenview Public Schools will face in the future and for their ideas on how to approach the same.
Nan Ross-Meridith, President of the GEA stated “We encourage Glenview residents to vote for current BOE members, Jack Murphy, Chris Northwick and Cathe Russe because they care about our children and our community. Our recommendation is based on the integrity and high ethical standards of these individuals, their positive attitudes about the importance of quality public education, and their respect for all staff. Their commitment to the education of the whole child, ensures that each child develops into a well-rounded citizen. Additionally, each of these candidates value collaborative decision making with all stakeholders.”
“We are extremely pleased to offer our support to Mr. Murphy, Ms. Northwick and Ms. Russe. The three recommended candidates are committed to the schools, to the students, and are supportive of the entire education environment. We know they will make a positive difference for children” stated Meg Macfadden, President of the GPA.
