Brodsky Dermatology Sued For Medical Malpractice
Patient claims the Glenview doctor performed an eye lift in 2013 that resulted in the need for several corrective surgeries.
A Glenview dermatologist is being sued by a patient who claims she performed substandard work in an eye lift that resulted in a deformed appearance.
Margo Touris filed the suit in Cook County Circuit Court against Dr. Amy L. Brodsky and Brodsky Dermatology on August 28, alleging medical malpractice in a blepharoplastic procedure - according to The Cook County Record.
The complaint states that Brodsky performed substandard work at her Compass Road practice on August 30, 2013. The work is alleged to have resulted in “a condition called cicatricial ectropian, wherein the patient’s lower eyelids’ turned outward away from her eyeballs, giving her a deformed appearance.”

Touris met with another plastic surgery a month after the eye lift and was told she would need major corrective surgery involving skin grafts, according to the suit. The 66-year-old plaintiff has since underwent three corrective surgeries.
She seeks more than $50,000, plus attorney fees and costs.
