"Build It!" at Kohl Children's Museum

An interactive building exhibit comes to Kohl Children's Museum where children can interact with blocks of all shapes and sizes.

Kohl Children’s Museum of Greater Chicago (2100 Patriot Blvd., Glenview IL.) is pleased to announce the newly constructed, temporary exhibit “Build It!” which puts an innovative spin on classic building blocks by letting children explore and interact with ten different varieties of blocks in a single space November 25 through May 3, 2015.

Kids will be able to discover, stack, bridge, enclose, make patterns, name and symbolize using blocks (the seven stages of block play) while learning important lessons along the way. Block play teaches several important mathematical concepts, including measurement, numeral awareness, part-to-whole relationships and geometry. The “Build It!” exhibit was developed through the generous sponsorship of Wintrust, with additional support from Fat Brain Toys.

The Museum is open on Monday from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Special members-only hours are from Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
