The League of Women Voters of Glenview-Glencoe (LWV-GG) is pleased to announce a candidate forum for the IL Senate District 9 race in the upcoming March 17 primary election.
The live forum is scheduled for Thursday, February 12, from 7:30-8:30 pm at the Glenview Public Library, 1930 Glenview Road, Glenview.
Participating candidates include Patrick Hanley and Rachel Ruttenberg who are competing for the Democratic position on the November General Election ballot. The forum moderator will be from outside the boundaries of the contested race. The candidates have agreed to the format and ground rules. A recording of the forum will be posted on LWV-GG’s website at www.lwvglens.org for on-demand voter viewing. (Note: a candidate forum for the Republican race will not be held as the race is uncontested.)
Forum attendees will be given the opportunity to submit questions for the candidates. Questions should be generally applicable to both candidates and relate to specific issues within the district. Time will not permit all questions submitted to be asked.
The forum is co-sponsored by the Leagues of Women Voters of Evanston, Glenview-Glencoe, Winnetka-Northfield-Kenilworth and Wilmette in partnership with the Glenview Public Library and Glenview TV.
