25th Annual Lew Blond Memorial 5K Run/Walk

All in the community are welcome to the 25th Annual Lew Blond Memorial 5K Run/Walk on May 16 at Maple School, 2370 Shermer Road in Northbrook. Races begin at 8 a.m. This family-friendly tradition for all ages features a USATF-certified 5K Run/Walk; one-mile run; and the “Little Lew” 50-yard dash for children ages newborn to 6 years. Compete or participate for fun! 

Other features include a DJ music, finisher medals, a silent auction for packages and experiences from local businesses, a vendor fair, and more! Current prices are discounted through March 31 and range from $10 to $45 based on event type and participant age; race bundles are available. 

The Lew Blond Run honors former District 30 Applied Arts Teacher, Lew Blond, who passed away from ALS in 2000. Proceeds benefit the Les Turner ALS Foundation, scholarships for District 30 alumni studying the applied arts, and District 30 special projects. Learn more and register at lewblondrun.org!
