Checks Intercepted From Post Office, Forged: Glenview Police Blotter
A number of incidents have occurred this month with checks mailed from the post office, according to police.

GLENVIEW, IL — The following information comes from the Glenview Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of police activity, including incidents reported by the public and those arrested by police. Criminal charges represent accusations by the state and are often dropped or reduced. Updated information may be available from the Cook County Clerk of the Circuit Court.
Every person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

- Richard Cuc, 36, of the 4600 block of Grace Street, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 4:01 a.m. Feb. 11, following a motorist assist at West Lake Avenue and Pfingsten Road. He was released on bond.
- Michael Shaw, 49, of the 4200 block of Prairie Street, Chicago, is accused of aggravated driving under the influence of alcohol while driver's license suspended, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, no insurance, and was arrested at 4:09 a.m. Feb. 11, after a traffic stop at Waukegan Road and Glenview Road. He was released on bond.
- Tera L. Hoffman, 38, of the 500 block of Seminary Avenue, Park Ridge, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduced speed to avoid an accident, and was arrested at 2:40 a.m. Feb. 12, after an investigation in the 1800 block of Monroe Avenue. She was released on bond.
- Raanan Burg, 33, of the 1400 block of Hickory Street, Waukegan, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, improper lane usage, violate the median, and was arrested at 11:46 p.m. Feb. 12, following a traffic stop in the 1500 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released on bond.
CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT
Ethan Livingston, 27, of the 900 block of W. Dakin Street, is accused of criminal sexual assault, and was arrested at 4:50 p.m. Feb. 8, following the investigation of an incident reported on Jan. 19 in the 1800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
Derrick Herron, 59, of the 15100 bock of Martin Luther King Drive, Dolton, is accused of two counts of residential burglary, and was arrested at 9 a.m. Feb. 9, at the Skokie Courthouse. The arrest followed an investigation into an incident on March 21 in the 1100 block of Castilian Court. He was left in the custody of the Cook County Sheriff.
RETAIL THEFT
Andrew Densmore, 21, of the 2900 block of State Street, Chicago, is accused of felony retail theft, and was arrested at 12:35 p.m. Feb. 9, at the Cook County Jail. The charge stemmed from a Dec. 20, 2022, incident in the 1300 block of Patriot Boulevard. He was held at the Cook County Jail pending a bond hearing.

INCIDENTS
RECKLESS DRIVING
A Skokie resident was cited at 11:11 a.m. Feb. 7, for reckless driving, improper lane usage, disobeying a traffic signal following the investigation of a traffic crash in the intersection of East Lake Avenue and Shermer Road.
FORGERY
- A Winnetka resident reported at 11:39 a.m. Feb. 7, a check mailed from the Glenview U.S. Post Office was intercepted in the mail and cashed for a different amount to a different person.
- An employee of a business in the 2700 block of Patriot Boulevard called police at 2:52 p.m. Feb. 9, to report several business checks mailed at the Glenview U.S. Post Office were intercepted in the mail and cashed to different names and different amounts.
- A resident in the 2000 block of Dauntless Drive reported at 11:01 a.m. Feb. 13, a check mailed from the Northbrook U.S. Post Office, 1157 Church St., was cashed to a different person and a different amount.
- A Silverwillow Lane resident called police at 11:01 a.m. Feb. 13, to report a check mailed from the Glenview U.S. Post Office was cashed to a different person and a different amount.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
A resident in the 900 block of Harlem Avenue reported that during the overnight hours of Feb. 7, someone shattered the rear passenger window on their vehicle and attempted to steal the vehicle by peeling the steering column, while it was parked in their residential parking lot.
BURGLARY
A resident in the 1500 block of Maple Lane called police to report that between 6:20 p.m. and 7:50 p.m. Feb. 7, someone entered their home through a rear living room window and stole jewelry items from inside.
NO DRIVER'S LICENSE
A Chicago resident was cited for no driver's license, following a traffic stop at 11:10 p.m. Feb. 9, in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
An employee of a business in the 3000 block of North Lake Terrace reported that between Jan. 26 and Feb. 1, someone broke the driver’s side window on a truck and shattered the window of another truck.
THEFT
- An employee of a business in the 1800 block of Glenview Road reported at 8:13 p.m. Feb. 10, a customer refused to pay their bill. The customer left without incident and was advised not to return.
- A Mount Prospect resident reported at 1:18 p.m. Feb. 12, a lock was cut off a locker at a business in the 3800 block of Willow Road, and cash was stolen from a wallet.
RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A Northbrook resident reported that at some time between Jan. 22 and Feb. 11, someone broke the rear door to a relative's home in the 2700 block of Virginia Lane, ransacked several rooms and stole items.
Officers responded to a residence in the 3400 block of Springdale Avenue at 6:24 p.m. Feb. 13, for an alarm and discovered a front door to the residence open by force. The residence was not occupied by any suspects. Several rooms were ransacked, and it was not known what may be missing from the residence.
SUSPENDED DRIVER'S LICENSE
A Chicago resident was cited at 10:23 p.m. Feb. 13, for driving while license suspended, possessing a suspended driver's license, improper lighting, following a traffic stop in the 9900 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
