Citgo in Glenview Gets $10,000 For Selling Winning Powerball Ticket
Illinois Lottery officials rewarded the Greenwood Road store with 1 percent of the prize amount.

GLENVIEW, IL - The Citgo at 915 Greenwood Road is celebrating a $10,000 bonus they received from the Illinois Lottery after selling one of two $1 million winning tickets sold in the Chicagoland area during the record-breaking Powerball drawing on Jan. 13.

Lottery presented a ceremonial check to Biju Philip, co-owner of the Citgo, in the amount of 1 percent of the prize amount. Another check for the same amount was made to a Newstand in Schaumburg which also sold a winning $1 million ticket that night.
The winning tickets each matched the firest five numbers - 04, 08, 19, 27, 34 (10) in the Powerball drawing that hit a jackpot of $1.5 billion, the largest lottery prize in world history.
Neither the winning ticket-holder in Glenview nor Schaumburg has come forward.
