District 34 Caucus Seeks New Members, School Board Candidates
Residents interested in running for the Board are welcome at an information session that will be held virtually Oct. 21.

The Glenview District 34 School Board Caucus is looking for district residents interested in running for the Board of Education in the April 2021 election. The Caucus also seeks residents to act as delegates representing their precincts who will help decide the slate of Caucus-endorsed candidates.

Residents interested in running for the Board are welcome at an information session that will be held virtually by District 34 on October 21 at 7 pm. To run for School Board, residents must be U.S. citizens 18 years of age or older, and district residents for at least one year preceding the election. Candidates do not need to have children attending District 34 schools. Deadline to apply for Caucus consideration as a Board candidate is Nov. 16.
Deadline for residents to apply as a Caucus member (limited to 3 delegates per precinct) is November 2. The first meeting of Caucus members to discuss the district’s needs and responsibilities of Board members is November 10. To hear and slate candidates, the Caucus will meet Dec 1. Both meetings will be held virtually.

The purpose of the Caucus is to select and support excellent candidates for election to the School Board on a non-partisan basis who will preserve high educational standards in our local schools. Members of the Caucus shall serve as individual citizens, speaking for the best interests of District 34 as a whole, and shall not act as representatives of any organization or person(s).
