Drunken Driver Nabbed On 9 Charges After Leaving Accident: Blotter

- Juan Sanchez-Gamino, 50, of the 2500 block of S. Ridgeway Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, illegal transportation of alcohol, improper lane usage, failure to signal following a traffic stop, and was arrested at 9:26 p.m. May 11, in the 9800 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He was released after posting a $1,000 bond and was assigned a court date of June 13.
- Adrian Miranda-Pimentel, 26, of the 400 block of Pleasant Run Drive, Wheeling, is accused of aggravated driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to give notice after striking a parked vehicle, fleeing/attempt to elude police, reckless driving, revoked license, and was arrested at 8:41 p.m. May 12, following a driving complaint in the 1000 block of Castilian Court. He was held for a bond hearing.

INCIDENTS
FORGERY
A business owner in the 2000 block of Johns Drive reported at 3:47 p.m. May 10, a fraudulent check was cashed by “Matthew Jacobs” for approximately $1,250 to $1,500.
IDENTITY THEFT
- A Glenview resident called police at 4:16 p.m. May 10, to report someone forwarded all their mail to a location in Chicago. The unknown person also used their identifying information to open a Chase credit card and attempted to purchased $4,700 worth of items using the card.
- A Glenview resident reported at 4:55 p.m. May 12, someone used their debit card to make a purchase for $680.40 at Lash Me Spa in Brooklyn, New York.
THEFT
- A Niles resident reported that between 7:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. May 10, someone stole two bicycles from a bike rack near Dick’s Sporting Goods, 1900 Tower Drive.
- A Glenview resident called police on May 16 to report that between 1:30 p.m. and 1:45 p.m., someone stole their wallet while they were shopping at a business in the 1400 block of Waukegan Road.
SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A resident in the 1100 block of Vernon Drive called police at 10:26 a.m. May 11, to report two people came to the house and identified themselves as FBI agents. The subjects said they were investigating COVID-19 labs for charging fees on tests. They left the area in a black SUV.
THEFT OF MOTOR VEHICLE PARTS
- A person reported at 12:59 a.m. May 12, three males, wearing dark hoodies, stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue. The offenders were seen leaving the area in a dark-colored BMW SUV.
- A person called police to report that between April 29 and May 15, someone stole the catalytic converter from their vehicle while it was parked at a business in the 4500 block of West Lake Avenue.
BURGLARY
It was reported at 3:39 a.m. May 12, someone broke two windowpanes on a garage window at a business in the 3200 block of West Lake Avenue.
ATTEMPTED RESIDENTIAL BURGLARY
A Glenview resident reported at 11:30 p.m. May 13, they heard loud noises/banging coming from the rear of their residence in the 1000 block of East Lake Avenue. Upon checking, they found the window well cover halfway ajar with three of the screws sticking up from the cover. The resident believed someone pulled up the cover in an attempt to enter the home.
BURGLARY FROM MOTOR VEHICLE
A Glenview resident called police to report that during the overnight hours of May 15, someone entered their unlocked vehicle while it was parked in the driveway in the 1800 block of George Court.
SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE
An Evanston resident was cited at 12:42 p.m. May 15, for driving on a suspended license following a traffic stop in the 1400 block of East Lake Avenue. They were released on a $150 bond and were assigned a court date of June 8.
CRIMINAL DEFACEMENT
A Village of Glenview Public Works employee reported at 8:23 a.m. May 16, someone spray-painted the northeast corner wall of the second deck parking garage at 2701 Sable Drive.
