Drunken Driver Rear-Ends Sheriff's Patrol Car In Glenview: Police

The driver was arrested and charged with driving under the influence following the Sunday night incident.

GLENVIEW, IL — A drunken driver rear-ended a Cook County Sheriff's patrol car late Sunday night in Glenview, resulting in two officers being injured. According to a social media post, the officers were conducting a traffic stop when the incident occurred and had their emergency lights activated.

The CCSO said the driver failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody by the Glenview Police Department.

"We hold our officers in our prayers as they make their recoveries and we remind everyone: Do not drink and drive. If you see emergency vehicles, move over," the post concludes.
