January Glenview Gardeners Meeting

                      GLENVIEW GARDENERS

     Glenview Gardeners will present “Ikebana: the Art of Japanese Floral Design”, at their Tuesday, January 10th meeting, 7:00p.m. held in the Community Room of the Glenview Police Department, 2500 East Lake Avenue, Glenview, Il. 

      Charles Harris, president of the Ikenobo Ikebana Society of America-Chicago chapter will be the speaker.  With over 20 years of experience, he has exhibited extensively at Midwest venues including the Chicago Botanic Garden and the Art Institute of Chicago.

      Ikebana is a floral art form with beginnings in Kyoto, Japan, as a Buddhist floral offering and dating back approximately 1,000 years.

      Glenview Gardeners is an area garden club open to both men and women who are interested in all aspects of gardening. Interests include indoor/outdoor gardening, landscape design and specialty gardening.
